The Epiphany Box: A Moment of Reflection and Prayer

As part of our Epiphany celebrations, the Path Lighters have created a beautiful and thoughtful Epiphany Box, offering pupils and visitors a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect and pray.

The box itself is carefully decorated with images that bring the story of Epiphany to life, helping to retell the journey of the Magi and their encounter with the Christ child. These visual reminders invite our school community to reflect on the significance of Epiphany as a time of revelation, generosity and faith.

Inside the Epiphany Box are slips of paper that pose a simple but powerful question: What gift might you offer to Jesus today? Pupils are encouraged to think beyond material gifts and instead reflect on qualities they can share in their daily lives, such as hope, love, kindness, patience or joy. This encourages children to connect the message of Epiphany with their own actions and attitudes, helping faith to feel personal and relevant.

Alongside this, everyone is invited to write a personal prayer. As Henry has done, pupils are able to express their thoughts, hopes and intentions in their own words, fostering a deeper sense of reflection and spiritual awareness. These moments of quiet prayer provide a valuable opportunity for children to slow down, consider others, and develop their relationship with God.

The Epiphany Box has become a gentle focal point within our school, offering a simple yet meaningful way for our whole community, pupils, staff and visitors alike, to engage with the message of Epiphany. Through reflection, prayer and thoughtful response, it reminds us that the gifts we offer through our words and actions can be just as precious today as those brought by the Magi.
