We are delighted that you are considering Loyola Prep School for your son and are pleased to provide admissions information below.
We recognise that selecting a school for your child will be one of the most important decisions that you will make as a parent, involving much research and discussion. If you have any questions about our admissions process or any other questions about the school, please email our Admissions Manager, Mrs Long, or call 020 8504 7372.
Pupils can join Loyola Prep School at different stages of a child's educational journey but it is most common for pupils to join the term after they turn 3 or having sat the 7+ to join Prep (Year 3). However, occasionally spaces in other year groups become available, or families request that their son starts as soon as their son turns 3 years old (mid-term) so please do contact our Admissions Manager, Mrs Long, to check availability and discuss further.
Below is a simplified step-by-step guide to applying for a place at Loyola Preparatory School:

Complete our online Book Your Visit form.

Our Admissions Manager, Mrs Long, will then be in contact to arrange a personal tour with our Headmistress, Mrs Anthony. The tour will last between 30-45 minutes and provides a valuable opportunity to experience Loyola Preparatory School first-hand and ask any questions you may have.

Candidates in Year 1 (PP1) onwards (including 7+) will be invited to spend a day (or half day) at the school during which an assessment of their current working standards is made once an Application form, Prospective Pupil Questionnaire and fee (£60 non-refundable bank transfer) is received. This assessment is so that the school can ensure that applicants will benefit from the education that is offered here. Once assessments are completed and reviewed, a decision regarding an offer is made.

If you decide that you would like your son to join Loyola Prep and haven't done so already, you will need to complete the Application Form and make payment of the application fee (£60 non-refundable bank transfer).

If a place is offered, you are asked to pay an acceptance deposit (£1,000*) or decline the offer by the deadline date.
* This entrance fee is made up of a £250 non-refundable payment (which covers set up administration costs) and £750, which will be deducted from your son’s last term’s fees in Rudiments (Year 6). If an accepted school place is not taken up, the whole £1,000 is forfeited and is not refundable.
Boys can join Loyola Preparatory School from Nursery (aged 3). The main entry point is Nursery or Year 3 (7+), although places may occasionally be available in other year groups depending on availability.
The first step is to register your interest and arrange a visit to the school. Our Admissions Manager, Mrs Long, will then guide you through the next steps, including submitting an application form.
Yes, we warmly encourage all families to visit. You’ll meet the Headmistress and see the school in action, giving you a real sense of our environment, values, and day-to-day life.
From Year 1 upwards, children are invited for an assessment morning. This helps us understand their current ability and ensures we can support them appropriately if they join us.
There is no formal “exam” as such. Instead, children are assessed through a friendly school visit, which may include classroom activities and informal evaluations.
After the assessment, we carefully review each application. Families will then be contacted with the outcome and next steps.
