    Loyola Prep mission statement

(everything we do is) to the greater glory of God

Our school mission statement is at the heart of all that we do. At Loyola, we recognise that we are one family within God, we foster a culture of support and inclusivity and are proud of the work we do both with our pupils and their families. Our staff are approachable and friendly and recognise the importance of regular communication and celebration. We invite parents to all of our events at school, including our weekly Masses, our celebration assemblies, concerts and school performances.

The core values of our school focus on high expectations for all learners, developing skills for life, encouraging good self-esteem and developing a set of core moral values based upon the magis that the Jesuit Society founded. These values are core to every part of our lives and are reflected in the way that we treat each other, the way that we look for everyday opportunities to help those in need and in the example that we demonstrate to all those we meet.

At Loyola, we aim to live out the values we hold dear and each half-term a pupil from the lower and upper school are awarded a courtesy cup during our celebration assembly.  Here the boys are recognised for upholding the values of:

These values were developed by the pupils, parents and staff in our school, and we also created actions to show that we fully understand what they mean. Our expectation is that everyone continues to adopt the “Loyola” way in all they do as they are integral to our school community.

    LOVE

A willingness to show care, kindness and respect for others. Love inspires service, generosity and a deep awareness that all people are made in the image of God.
John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God

    FAITH

A trust in God and confidence in His presence in every part of life. Faith encourages prayer, perseverance and hope, even in times of challenge.
Matthew 17:20 - He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

    COMPASSION

An understanding heart that reaches out to those in need. Compassion moves pupils to act with empathy and to support others through words and deeds.
Ephesians 4:32 - Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

    FORGIVENESS

An openness to say sorry and to forgive others. It recognises our shared humanity and the peace that comes from reconciliation and mercy.
Matthew 6: 14-15 – For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you

    HONESTY

A commitment to truthfulness and integrity in words and actions. Honesty builds trust, self-respect and fairness in relationships.
Luke 6:31 - Do to others as you would have them do to you.

    COMMUNITY

A sense of belonging and responsibility towards others. Community fosters cooperation, respect and a shared purpose of living and learning together for the Greater Glory of God.
Peter 4:10 - Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
