During the discussion, one of our School Councillors put forward a thoughtful suggestion: to organise an Advent Calendar Drive. The idea was met with enthusiasm, and the boys wasted no time putting it into action. Over the past week, our school community rallied together, donating a wide variety of Advent calendars, each one a small gesture that can make a big difference to a child or family in need.

Yesterday, our School Council proudly delivered 72 Advent calendars to Noah’s Ark. They were warmly received by Amanda and her team, who expressed their gratitude for the boys’ generosity and initiative. The visit also gave the boys an opportunity to spend time learning about the range of Advent calendars available and to join together in a prayer for the families who will benefit from the donations.

This initiative is another powerful example of our pupils living out their Catholic Social Teaching, particularly Option for the Poor and Vulnerable and Community and Participation. These values are central to the Loyola ethos and represent lessons we hope the boys will carry with them long after they leave our school.

We are incredibly proud of the compassion and community spirit shown by our School Council and the wider Loyola community. Their efforts have brought joy to many families this Advent season—a true testament to the power of service.
