Reflecting on the End of Our Christmas Term

As we reach the close of our Christmas term, it is a perfect moment to pause, reflect, and appreciate the many wonderful experiences and achievements that have shaped the past months at Loyola. From the excitement of welcoming our newest Kindergarten and Reception boys in September to supporting our Rudiments boys as they prepare for their 11+ exams and take confident steps toward the next chapter of their educational journey, this term has been filled with growth, learning, and community spirit.

Across the school, every boy has shown determination and enthusiasm, both in and out of the classroom. We have shared countless stories that highlight the character and kindness of our pupils: boys donating their birthday money to CAFOD, demonstrating thoughtfulness far beyond their years; impressive sporting successes at club and county level; and outstanding progress in academic work, where effort and perseverance have shone brightly. These moments remind us that education extends well beyond formal lessons, it is also about forming compassionate, confident young people who understand the value of giving and supporting others.

This term, the Loyola community has embodied the true spirit of Christmas giving. We are incredibly proud of the generosity shown through foodbank contributions and monetary donations to our chosen charities. Supporting those in need has always been a central part of our ethos, and it is heartening to see this so strongly reflected in the actions of our boys and their families.

We are also deeply grateful to our wonderful PTA, whose hard work and creativity have brought joy to both the boys and the wider Loyola community. Their events have helped strengthen the bonds that make our school special, with all funds raised going directly back into enriching the boys’ experiences and ensuring Loyola remains the best possible place for them to learn and grow.

As we now prepare for the festive season, we wish all our families joy, peace, and a truly wonderful Christmas. May 2026 bring happiness, health, and exciting new opportunities.

We look forward to welcoming the boys back to school on Tuesday 6th February for the start of our Lent term.

Merry Christmas and warmest wishes for the New Year.
